K2 Light Therapy is a wellness driven red light therapy brand that strives to improve health and wellness through the use of light . K2 was founded in 2024 by Dr. Kelly Harrison in Olds, Alberta, Canada. After more than a decade as a chiropractor and laser therapist, Dr. Harrison saw firsthand how powerful light therapy can be for healing—using a Class 4 medical laser to treat deep tissue inflammation, joint pain, and soft tissue injuries with incredible results.
The science is simple but amazing: when your cells are exposed to specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light, the mitochondria—the powerhouses of your cells—produce more ATP (energy). More energy means faster repair, less inflammation, stronger tissues, and even boosted collagen production for long-term healing.
Over the years, more patients began asking about at-home red light devices. Curious, Dr. Harrison researched how they worked—and realized that while they were helpful, most panels on the market were missing the same precision and power he saw in his laser treatments.
That’s when the journey of developing K2 products began.
Dr. Harrison spent the next few months designing and testing custom panels, carefully choosing the five most studied wavelengths (including 810nm, a powerhouse for athletes). He felt some changes needed to be made for a better result. He made them wider (12 inches) than typical panels for better coverage, and ensured medical-grade LEDs produced over 100mw/cm² irradiance—enough power to deliver real, therapeutic results. Every detail mattered: from beam angle and LED positioning to cooling fans, low EMF output, dimming, and pulsing features. It took multiple prototypes and manufacturers to get it right, but the result was worth it.
Today, K2 panels and pods are manufactured in facilities that are CE, FDA, RoHS, ISO90001, and ISO13485 certified, ensuring world-class safety and quality.
NASA were the first to study red light therapy to keep astronauts healthy in space. Their studies lead to more studies and the red light wave will continue to grow and refine in the years to come. We believe in merging science, results and accessibility. K2 brings advanced, clinical-grade technology into a product people can use daily at home.
